NEW Construction Alliance is modeled after the Northeastern Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance currently 250 companies-strong working to better the manufacturing industry through similar practices and collaborations.
NEW Construction Alliance Information + Recruitment Event
On March 7th, the alliance is hosting an information and recruitment event at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton. The goal is to generate awareness of the emerging group and how other companies and individuals can get involved to broaden its reach and impact. The morning's lineup and agenda of featured speakers include:
- Dennis Winters, Chief Labor Economist, Department of Workforce Development - providing an overview of Wisconsin's workforce challenges now and in the decade ahead
- Sarah Inman, VP of Community Investment, Brown County United Way - offering insight into the large underemployed working population in NE Wisconsin
- Jeff Anderson, Leader of NEW Manufacturing Alliance - discussing successful initiatives through the collective efforts of over 250 area manufacturing companies
The event kicks off at 7:30 am and wraps at 9:00 am. From Immel's perspective, we're excited about the opportunity to promote our industry as a whole. We want to increase awareness of construction industry jobs and the need for talent and workforce. Construction jobs are both good paying and a great career opportunity; we’re looking to connect those facts to the individuals currently looking for opportunities.
To register, contact Mary Willcox at the Bay Area Workforce Development Board by March 5th.
