2023 Highlights from our Immel Employees

We tend to spend a lot of time discussing numbers and statistics at year's end.  2023 was a very successful year by many measurements for Immel Construction, but these figures do not tell the whole story.  When asked, some of our employees reminded us that there are many things we can be proud of over the last year.

Tim Keany, Superintendent
5 years with Immel Construction

“My professional highlight was doing jobs with our carpenters. Having our crew onsite allows us to take on more situations that would otherwise be challenging. One of the best days of 2023 was working in Bemidji and spending the 4th of July onsite with the crew, golfing during the day, and watching the fireworks on the beach that night. The company highlight of the year is how we did the most sales in the history of Immel. Let’s beat that this year!”

Phill Voss, Project Manager

“Personally and professionally, working on the Golden House campus expansion was a major highlight for me in 2023. It was a very rewarding project. One of my most fun moments with coworkers this past year was going to the Packers/Chiefs game. This year, I believe Immel as a whole has most improved on internal communication within departments.”

Jeff Benson, Superintendent
1 year with Immel Construction

“My professional highlight of the year was working with experienced Immel Superintendents to learn the professional standards and leadership of Immel Construction prior to starting my project at Tower Clock Eye Center in Appleton. I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to work with and mentor younger coworkers and seeing their willingness to learn.”

Connie Lemmens, Accounts Receivable Coordinator
23 years with Immel Construction

“A highlight of the year has to be the teamwork I see throughout everyone to make Immel profitable. One of the most fun moments of 2023 was the annual miniature golf outing. Just getting everyone together and enjoying the time away from the office is always fun. This past year, seeing the end of the tunnel with the restoration of my home was a major highlight!”

Justin Delveaux, Foreman
6 years with Immel Construction

“My highlight of the year was not only bringing my younger brother to Immel, but being able to work side by side with him has been an amazing experience. Also, going into a Walmart project as Foreman 3 weeks into the start that was a little behind schedule and turning a profit on the carpentry in the end was a great personal highlight of 2023. This year, being able to work with a great group of coworkers can turn out to be a lot of fun. Yes, I said fun at the workplace!”

Spencer Dohms, Estimator
7 years with Immel Construction

“This year, I think Immel most improved on trying new technologies, tools, and approaches to become more efficient. The most fun moment of 2023 was the Immel Grand Prix racing go-karts. One of the main reasons I came to Immel seven years ago was that I saw substantial potential. I still see that today more than ever, and this past year is proof of that.”

Ty Rabas, Superintendent
8 years with Immel Construction

“My Professional highlight of 2023 was working with Kwik Trip and their rigorous schedules, completing two beautiful stores in the UP. Working with the crew on the Kwik Trip stores was some of the funniest moments with coworkers this year. Immel Construction excelled this year at projects completed around the area and in the UP in 2023.”

Matt Diny, Project Manager
3 years with Immel Construction

“One of the most fun moments of 2023 with coworkers was volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, helping construct a home for a local family. Professionally, 2023 was a great year and included topping out the UWGB UVHI Residence Hall ahead of schedule. Personally, the birth of my son was the highlight of 2023 and getting to watch my daughter become a big sister.”

Sam Shirley, Risk Control Manager
3 years with Immel Construction

“Receiving the Wisconsin Safety Council Award was a remarkable highlight in 2023 because it recognized the effort that we have put into become a safer company. From safety practices to new hires, volume of sales to performance reviews, Immel is improving its ability to create and roll out positive company changes. My personal highlights in 2023 were buying a house and finding out my wife Tessa is pregnant.”
